Board of Directors

The President of the MUS is the head of both the MUS Executive Team and the Board of Directors. They are the lead representative of the MUS to McGill administration, other faculty associations and external parties, including but not limited to: RÉFAEC, Corporate Sponsors, Registraire des Entreprises du Québec, etc. 

The Management Representatives to the SSMU sit on SSMU Legislative Council, the highest decision-making body in the SSMU, which is responsible for the generation and amendment of SSMU policies. The SSMU Representatives are responsible for ensuring the maintenance of MUS values at the University level, and are expected to vote on policies in accordance with MUS governing principles and interests.

The MUS Chairperson serves as the liaison between the MUS Board of Directors and the MUSExecutive Team. Despite sitting on the Board of Directors, the Chairperson is appointed by the Board and is expected to have a strong knowledge of MUS processes and governance. They serve as the leader of the monthly MUS Council.

The Year representatives serve on the Board to speak on the interests and concerns of their respective demographics. The MUS recognizes that its decision-making must take into consideration the demographic diversity of its students, and that those may be conflicting. The Year Representatives are tasked with involving themselves in the MUS, connecting with their peers in order to report back to the MUS council.
