Governance Structure

What is the MUS?

The McGill Management Undergraduate Society (MUS) represents all undergraduate students in the Desautels Faculty of Management. The Society is made up of three governing bodies:

  • Board of Directors

  • Executive Council

  • Ombudsperson

What does the Board of Directors do?

The Board of Directors serves as the MUS's primary legislative body. Its responsibilities include:

​

  • Reviewing and approving MUS policies, governance documents, and constitutional amendments

  • Overseeing changes to the Society's structure and operations

  • Appointing the MUS Executive Team through an application process

  • Representing students on MUS and McGill committees throughout the year

What does the Executive Council do?

The Executive Council oversees the day-to-day operations of the MUS and works to support students through a variety of initiatives, services, and events.

The Executive Team is divided into eight portfolios:

​

  • Academics

  • Finance

  • Internal Affairs

  • Corporate Relations

  • Communications

  • SEDI (Student Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion)

  • Events & Engagement

  • Competitions

​

Each portfolio is led by a Vice-President, who provides leadership and oversight to the clubs, committees, and team members within their area.
