Governance Structure

Overview

The MUS represents the student body and is comprised of a board of directors, ombudsperson, and executive council.

The Board of Directors operates as the main legislative body of the MUS. Their job is to review policies, constitutional and governance documents, and approve/deny changes the structural organization of the Society. They are also responsible for appointing the MUS Executive Team through an application process and sit on various committees at both the MUS and the McGill level throughout the year.

The MUS Executive team is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Society, and is divided into 8 portfolios: Academics, Finance, Internal, Corporate Relations, Communications, SEDI, Events and Competitions. Each Vice-President has a seat on the Executive team and is responsible for the leadership of the clubs, committees and individuals working under their portfolio.
