Judicial Process

For a complaint about an MUS entity or an MUS student, any MUS student is welcome to file a formal complaint with the MUS Ombudsperson. After the complaint is received, the Ombudsperson will reach out to the concerned party and set up an individual meeting, respecting anonymity at all times.

Following the meeting, should the Ombudsperson be satisfied of the complaint’s association to the MUS, an independent investigation will occur, led by the Ombudsperson. The Ombudsperson does not report to any member of the Executive Team, to respect privacy and the impartiality of the role. At the conclusion of the investigation, the findings will be presented to a quorum to the Board of Directors.

Each member of the Board of Directors that may be implicated shall be asked to recuse themselves from the findings meeting. Should a quorum not be reached due to recusals, Interim Board Members may be appointed by the Ombudsperson.
